TL;DR β three ways to do this, wildly different price tags
Option A β Recorder swap only (~$700β900 hardware): XMEye DVRs are almost always analog cameras over coax. An Amcrest penta-brid XVR accepts those same analog cameras on the same coax β replace ONE box, keep all 16 cameras and every cable, and instantly get trustworthy RTSP for Displayee. Half-day install.
Option B β Full IP overhaul (~$1,500β2,000 hardware + heavy labor): 16 new PoE cameras + recorder + 16 new Cat6 runs β Amcrest OR TP-Link VIGI (nearly identical hardware money; VIGI carries your SolutionX partner margin and zero FCC baggage). Labor is the biggest line (~$2,400β3,200 at FL rates).
Option C β Hybrid: XVR keeps most analog cams; add a few IP cameras (registers, entrance) where quality matters. Middle path.
Brand rule of thumb: keeping the old analog cameras β Amcrest only (VIGI makes no analog recorder). Going full IP β VIGI first (your margin, your program), Amcrest as the price-hedge quote.
Recommendation: quote A and B side-by-side. A gets Gurapos onto the Displayee camera add-on for under ~$1,500 installed; B is the $4,500β6,000 flagship sale. Either way the security-toxic XMEye recorder leaves the building.

1 Β· Site Survey β 15 minutes, determines everything
Look at the back of the XMEye recorder. 16 round screw-on BNC connectors β analog DVR over coax (RG59) β Options A/B/C all valid. Mostly RJ45/network with a switch β IP system (rarer for XMEye) β skip to Β§5 note.
Camera type & state: analog HD flavor (AHD/TVI/CVI β usually printed on camera or in DVR channel settings), resolution (720p/1080p/5MP), how many are dead/foggy. Working 1080p+ analog cams are worth keeping under Option A.
Coax health: spot-check a few runs β clean picture = cable is fine; rolling/ghosting = budget baluns or rerun.
Power: individual 12V wall warts vs. a central power box (note amperage); Siamese cable (power+video combined) is common and keeps Option A simple.
Internet & network: upload bandwidth at the site (need ~1β2 Mbps spare for streaming), router make, spare LAN port for the recorder + bridge.
Layout count: confirm 16 active views vs. licensed channels; note mounting heights (lift needed?), attic/ceiling access for any new runs.

"Dealer discount": try 10β20% on VIGI (SolutionX partner pricing + deal-reg on a 16-cam job), 5β10% on Amcrest (dealer portal once approved). Setup hours cover recorder config, 16-channel RTSP verification, bridge install, VLAN, and Displayee pairing.

Whichever option: the bridge pulls subtype=1 substreams from the ONE Amcrest recorder β 16 channels through a single stable device, the easiest possible bridge config.
Set each channel's substream to H.264, 640Γ480β704Γ480, 512 kbpsβ1 Mbps in the recorder β browser-safe, no transcoding.
Snapshot API gives the dashboard a 16-tile thumbnail wall without holding 16 streams open; clicking a tile opens the live WebRTC view.
Strip audio at the bridge (FL Β§934.03 all-party consent) + include the surveillance-notice signage kit.
Recorder + bridge on an isolated VLAN; zero port forwards.
If the survey finds an XMEye NVR with IP cameras instead: an Amcrest NVR may adopt the XM cams via ONVIF (port 8899, hit-or-miss) β but those cameras carry the same Xiongmai firmware risk; quote full IP replacement (Option B) as the honest fix.
Pitch framing for Gurapos: "Your current DVR brand had a 9-million-device security backdoor disclosure and is banned from many networks. Apply for Amcrest dealer account (dealers@amcrest.com) β free, gates Option A pricing. For VIGI quotes, register the deal in the SolutionX portal.
Run the Β§1 site survey at Gurapos (BNC vs RJ45, camera count/health, coax check, upload speed).
Price both A and B in the calculator with survey numbers β present two-option quote.
Order hardware (verify β prices; for Option A the XVR must be penta-brid matching the analog flavor found; for B choose Amcrest vs VIGI per Β§3).
